Shift Out of Conflict and into Connection, Safety, and Intimacy "Improve your brain, improve your relationships." That's what Stan Tatkin has learned from his leading-edge work as a researcher and couples therapist. In this complete audio learning program, he merges current insights from neurobiology and attachment theory to help you shift out of conflict and into deeper and more loving connections. You'll first learn to identify attachment stylesโpatterns of intimacy that begin in the earliest yearsโboth in yourself and in those around you. Then Tatkin guides you through his proven principles and practices for building enduring security and commitment between partners, family members, and others whom you love. Join him to explore: The warring brain versus the loving brain โข When your brain's threat response is getting in the way of love โข How to avoid triggering fear and help your partner feel safe and secure โข Simple gestures and words to put out emotional fires โข The power of rituals to build trust and intimacy โข How to make your relationship a sanctuary, and more Based upon key insights from neurobiology, attachment theory, and emotion regulation research, Your Brain on Love will show you how to change the way you relate with others and open the way to greater love and connection. Highlights: The neurobiology of matingโwho we choose and why โข The neurobiology of commitmentโbuilding security, the foundation of a healthy relationship โข Anchor, Island, and Wave types: understanding your attachment style and those of others โข "Is it you or is it me?" Understanding how the attachment styles of others interact with your own. โข Experiencing healthy conflict through social contracts, ground rules, and awareness โข Creating a lifelong plan to continue deepening your relationships Review: Great information and great caring teaching style - I have purchased 4 sets of this CD series (3 gifs I purchased after I bought my first one) and have recommended it to many others. I wishI I had this information years ago, but glad I have it now. There are several things I learned about myself and others: how early attachment styles affect relationships, what are skills some people just don't have, how processing speed challenges a relationship, how to keep fight/disagreements short and non-threatening...Dr. Tatkin's style of teaching is easy to listen to. I have listened to this set several times now and plan to listen more. He also makes good suggestions for people who are at the first of an "in love" situation since he stresses being in love is the brain "being on a drug." Review: Best couple survival guide you will ever need - I do believe that Dr. Tatkin gets it right. I have had quite the self discovery while progressing through these CD's. If you take the undistracted time to absorb this information, even if you don't have a partner willing to share the experience with, you will come out a wiser, better informed human. I wish there were some way to teach everyone these communications. Everyone would get along so much better if they saw the big picture and why we are motivated to do what we do. Relationships are tough enough, there are many distractions and if you can get someone to throw you a life line to a happier, healthier coupling wouldn't you want to take it.

Read the book first: Wired For Love
I am a fan and follower of Dr. Tatkin's research and couple's therapy approach. This set of CD's parallels and expands on information in his book, Wired for Love. His extemporaneous style of talking sometimes diverts attention from a core principle and makes it less clear, less easily understood. Since I had read his book and follow his blogs I knew where he was going and could enjoy the journey.

Profound and Helpful for Everyone
Stan Tatkin's books and this audiobook in particular have been very helpful to me. The audiobook is really nice to have in the car. It's like I have a friend who is very smart about relationships sharing their views with me each time I run an errand. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who is curious to know more about healthy relationships.

Something everyone should read...a must!
I recently stopping seeing someone and I had a hard time understanding why we became combative when we were so loving and supportive before. This series was enlightening. I thought I was reading this to learn about him but I also learned about me and "us". Although we are not together, I now understand us much more as a couple. I hope someday we will be US again. When that comes I will know US better on how to understand what I am thinking and feeling and why.

Definitely a winner!
Stan's series, 'Your Brain on Love' Is clear, sometimes even entertaining listening for anyone wishing to illuminate his/her understanding of the Science of Love. 'Brain on Love' provides guidance in understanding oneself as well understanding the ebbs and tides in relationship with significant others, including husbands, wives, lovers, friends, children and family members. Give them to those you know in love, wedding present too
Wow, this information is amazing, I think I'll give these for wedding presents as it really clarifies the various personalities and how to adjust as things change in a relationship. The personality profiles were very in depth and I could totally see myself in his description. FANTASTIC!!!!
