Thus far great
SO far I've been greatly impressed with this PSU and its eliminated my blue screening issues I was experiencing with my other PSU. But to be fair it wasn't all the PSU's fault I also had bad memory which was really at the heart of the problem. Once I replaced the PSU with this one I noticed a 90% drop in the blue screening, after I replaced the RAM my blue screening has stopped all together. I really love how quiet and efficient this PSU is all for a good price with a good warranty. I've got it powering this system: My rig: Seasonic 650 watt Gold PSU Gigabyte 970A rev3.0 FX motherboard AMD FX6300 black edition Zalman 92mm CPU fan 120GB Samsung 840 series SSD 1 TB WD redundant drive @7200RPM 16GB crucial ballistix tactical 1600MHz Asus 7850 2GB 256bit GDDR5 graphics card All this rolled into a nice, well ventilated, Thermaltake tower and powering a very underrated 24inch Dell monitor. Without any issues for a couple months now. The only thing I haven't really liked about this PSU has been the questionable warranty (as compared to corsair's 7 year warranty) this one has a 5 year warranty which I was rather shocked at considering it's the same PSU seasonic sells to corsair who then rebrands it and resells it for more. In contrast though from the in-depth reviews I read, the Seasonic one here, has better efficiency, noise control, and better voltage regulation in all aspects. Furthermore a seasonic gold rating actually means gold level efficiencies unlike other companies. Also the power cord it came with was quite impressive (all be it a bit too short for my liking) by being nice and thick which reminded me of the quality cords you see going into high end servers. So far I've been enjoying this PSU and hope to have years upon years of joyful use out of it.

Great quality power supply
I did a lot of research and reading about reliable power supplies when deciding which one to buy for my new custom-built desktop PC. Seasonic power supplies were always at the top of the list of reliability and good quality. I bought this power supply because it is built for the new Intel Haswell processors and it has an 80 PLUS GOLD rating. My new desktop has been running for a month now and there have been no problems at all from this power supply. It is never loud when on, even when running games at high graphics (the video card fans are much louder and audible than this fan). No major issues as of yet, hopefully it will keep my computer running for many years to come. The only thing I had trouble with was the location of the SATA plugs on the back of the unit. In my case, the power supply is at the bottom, with the fan facing down. This allows the fan to draw cool air from the bottom vent opening and the fan pushes the hot air out the back of the case. The SATA plugs in this configuration are set low, closer to the bottom of the case. Since my case allows for an additional fan to be placed on the bottom of the case, the location of the SATA cables prevented me from using a 140mm fan. I had to settle for a 120mm fan instead. This may not be a problem for your particular case, but just be aware that when the power supply is facing down (fan facing down), the SATA plugs are closer to the bottom. Other power supplies have their SATA plugs closer to the center or near the top of the back panel (further away from the bottom of the case).

Quiet and perfect. Happily fits into a Fractal Design Node 304 ...
Original review: Quiet and perfect. Happily fits into a Fractal Design Node 304 with enough room to spare for a full size graphics card. Review update Apr 2016: I stand by my previous review, the PSU has been going 24/7 since I originally reviewed it. Absolutely no problem and is still silent. I've had to clean it a couple of times due to pet hair and dust, but that's about it. Absolutely perfect PSU, it took me a few tries to find one that'd fit into the Fractal Node 304 along with a 780Ti Gfx card but I'm glad I persisted and eventually found this baby. It sits behind my Plasma TV and acts as my media center / gaming PC -- the machine sometimes gets really hot, what with the 780Ti and the Plasma near it but still the PSU battles on and hasn't given in. Have suffered through quite a few power outages (including repeated outages, like every few seconds) and it has just dealt with it no trouble. Without a doubt, my next PSU will be a Seasonic -- hope they keep up the good work.

Seasonic G series 650-Watt ATX12V/EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Power supply.
Pros: Semi modular, what is hard wired you use anyway. For those intrested, add on cables are the flat type. This helps in a case that does not have a lot of space behind the motherboard tray as in my Antec 300, and Rosewill Smart case's. Takes a little more time to organize them. Cables are long enough for most Mid Tower's. Gold standard, 90% of the power it supplies is usable. There is a noticable difference from 80%. Easy install, you need to look and think before hand. Delivered on time, packed well, perfect shape. Amazon Wharehouse Deals repacked it very nicely. Thank-you! Voltages checked at delivery, on the spot. A very good deal. Cons: None. Not a stranger to this PSU, as I own 2 now. They will replace 2 about used up, Corsair TX650 models (Seasonic platform also) that are over 5 years old.

This review is for both the 550W and 650W version. Fantastic units. I don't think SeaSonic even knows how to make a bad power supply(in fact, a lot of the high quality PSUs from other brands are actually made by SeaSonic and just rebranded). You can look up Johnny Guru's review of both of these power supplies, he's a very knowledgeable tech reviewer that tests, disassembles and inspects literally everything and he's concluded that everything inside these units is high quality and that they meets ATX and 80+ Gold specs, with other pro's like good ripple suppression and voltage regulation. The fan is also very quiet, even with my ear right up against the case where it's located I can barely hear it, quietest fan in my entire rig. Both of my rigs are on 24/7, I do a lot of long gaming sessions(I'm talking 6-10 hours nonstop) and have left one of my rigs Folding @ Home for a few days straight. No issues at all so far. Now onto why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I purchased both this and the 550W version of this series(the 550 first). Both are semi modular, so a few of the cables are built into the unit itself, I knew this up front. The 550W unit has the 24 pin ATX and 4+4 CPU cables attached to the unit. Perfect. The 650W has those, plus a PCIe power with 2 daisy chained 6+2 connectors. I did not want this and don't know why anybody buying a semi-modular PSU would either. Amazon really should put better product descriptions(they also have these listed as "modular" when they are semi-modular). I would have actually bought a different unit entirely for the 650W had I known this, and if I hadn't got such a good deal buying open box while the new unit itself was on sale I would have returned it. I only use 1 GPU and didn't want to have extra cables in my case that I didn't need(which is why I bought a semi-modular unit in the first place), plus it's actually inadvisable to have 2 high end GPU's drawing from a single cable. Life lesson here: do even more research when buying stuff. However, in the end, they're both fantastic units and I would recommend both, but just be aware that the 650 and up models have additional non-modular cables. EDIT: 2 and a half months later, the 650 is dead. And Seasonic expects me to pay to ship a heavy package to them to fix their defective product. I would understand if the product was over a year old, but I'm not even at 90 days. That's unacceptable. I don't care what the tech pros say about this brand, I will never purchase anything made by them again.

Works great with my gaming needs!
I bought this because I upgraded my computer with a new graphics card. While doing some major searching online, I consecutively found that many, many people suggest SeaSonic over any other brand of power supplies. I also learned that their rating (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, etc) is very important to consider; I wouldn't purchase one that is under gold. I am an incredibly cheap person, but I know it is best to invest more money in quality hardware for long term results. It's easy to say "well this is cheaper, it's a better deal" but in the long run paying more money for a higher quality purchase will wield better results. I bought this because the new graphics card I bought (XFX AMD Radeon HD7950 3 GB DDR5) requires a power supply greater than 500w; my old power supply that came stock with my computer was only 300w (make sure to check your power supply requirements when upgrading a computer, it is extremely important), so I needed a upgrade. Installation was super easy (some of the best written directions I have ever seen, but make sure to watch a couple Youtube videos on how to replace your power supply if you are a first timer like I was) and worked seamlessly with my desktop. It came with SO MANY cords and connectors it's certain to run with any rig. Another thing I noticed was the cords themselves were wrapped in a tight fabric to keep them tight and in control, rather than all over the place. I rate it a 5 our of 5 and would recommend it to any of my buddies looking to upgrade their gaming rig!

Great PSU
It's nearly silent, it's modular where it needs to be (no bulky 24-pin modular cable), and it's reliable. Easy to work with. One gripe: the SATA cables don't allow you to use the SSD mounts on the back of the mobo tray in the Fractal Define R5 case. The cable stresses the connection too much for my comfort.

Cheaper than cheap and even more inconvenient and inflexible
This was seemingly a good price point for a 650W gold power supply, but then I bought some of them and realized why they're so cheap. First, the thing that really annoys me the most is that this P/S has two extra connectors for PCI-e graphics cards but only comes with ONE cable. Also, there is not enough distance between the daisy-chained power connectors to power two adjacent single-connector cards and still have room for airflow. The cards have to put right up next to each other which starves one of them for airflow. Seasonic used to be a really good brand. I bought several of their 650W gold power supplies years ago and they had really good quality cabling, star-topology PCI-e cables instead of daisy-chaining (which doubles the current and voltage drop in the trunk line), and a FULL set of cables.

Excellente Alimentation
