7-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Slinky Cobalt Electric Guitar Strings, 10-62 Gauge (P02730)

All comparisons/descriptions are in the context of my guitar (alder body, maple/pau ferro neck with SS frets, hard-tail bridge). I've been using Stringjoy strings for a while now (freaking fantastic by the way, as customizable as you could want gauge-wise) which are very full and lively (lots of harmonics, plenty of mids and they feel amazing for strings made of standard materials). The Cobalts, by direct comparison, have a lot less mids, around the same amount of low end and a bit more presence on top. They jangle very well and would be great for a guitar/pickups that are a little clogged up in the midrange. The set I normally use has gauges very close to this set of cobalts, but the cobalts feel a bit more loose than I would have expected (a few reviews I read stated that, when questioned, the folks at EB said that they're made with a slightly smaller core wire and that's fairly easy to see when inspecting the ball end during installation). They feel a bit rougher than what I'm used to, but they aren't uncomfortable by any means. I feel the greatest strength of this material is just how controlled/quiet they sound. Not just because of the slight scoop in the mids, but I don't hear the strings ring between the nut and tuners at all. Compared to standard slinkys and paradigms the cobalts are far and away my favorite. I'll be switching back to my Stringjoys in 10-14 days, but these are great strings that I could see many applications for.

I've got a nickel allergy, these don't have nickel. That's how I started using cobalt strings, but these are simply the best. Silky feel, more durable than standard strings, and louder on the pickups. I wish more brands would start experimenting with cobalt because thus far, there's little comparison to what Ernie Ball is cookin.

Look, I don't leave reviews. It's usually a waste of time to me, but I had to leave one for these strings. Let me just say. Wow! Truly. Whatever strings I had before, are complete trash compared to these. I recently got an Ibanez 7-string, and I love it. But something about the sound was just...off. Heck, I even started looking at new pickups to buy! Then these came in. Strung em up, not thinking anything outside of it being time to replace my strings. Then I go to play. And (In Joe dirt voice) DANG!! The sound is so clear and vibrant!! 110% difference! I never would have thought that strings could make such a difference with the sound. It blew my mind. 100% recommend. No joke. If you own a 7-string, these are the strings to get.

My go to strings, every time. They sound like no other, with an extra high/mid brilliance that gives a serious bite. They also last longer than any other kind I've tried in my 25yrs of playing. I love the balance that's offered in the gauge span, super comfortable to play. For reference, I'm tuned g#d#g#c#f#a#d# on a 98' rg7620, and the 11-58 set is perfect for me, some extra give especially on the bottom end, which I prefer as a dynamic bendy player.

These strings are definitely something special. I own a 6 string but use tunings so low that they require 13-56, so I just leave out the thinnest string and use the rest. I use a set of Invader SH-8 pickups by Seymour Duncan, and the bright and full punch of these strings just slice through the mix when paired up with pickups like those. The feel of them took a little getting used to, but overall I will be using this specific pack from now on. Thank you so much, Ernie Ball!!!

Suenan muy bien en limpio, todavía mantienen su brillo desde que las compré, me gusta que sean mas resistentes al óxido que las de nickel y puedan durar un poco más hasta el siguiente cambio. Recomendado

I used to be a D'Addario user for 15 years, and 5 years ago I became a huge fan of Stringjoy. But over time I noticed an issue with stringjoy's unwound strings going "dead" too quickly, and seemingly causing unpleasant harmonics at certain notes. These Ernie Ball strings have so much character, and resonant with such pitch-perfect stability. I love how my octaves sound like a synth they are so accurate!

Très bon jeu de cordes. La marque Erie Ball à déjà fait ses preuves et est adoptée par grand nombre de guitaristes renommés. Pour ma part, elles offrent un bon confort de jeu et tiennent plutôt bien dans le temps. Le petit plus, c'est le côté "lubrifié". Autant dire qu'avec ça, on glisse facilement sur son manche. Je recommande ces cordes. La qualité est au rendez-vous.

se sei un old school che usa ancora la sette corde come me e non è passato alla otto corde come i nuovi tamarri della chitarra fermati e leggi qui. Ero un po' scettico per questo prodotto cobalt, sia per il prezzo sia per le recensioni mirabolanti. pero provandole e registrando il suono è realmente piu cristallino, ottime per il suono djent di Meshuggah e simili, molto dleng dleng. Corde avec tirant fort, le seul bémol les cordes du si et mi grave sont assez grosse, attention que votre sillet soit conforme à la taille sinon pour le reste le cobalt donne beaucoup de claquant. Ps: Avec le changement de corde il faut régler la justesse de la guitare.
