Review: Great Senior Exercise DVD! - I like this DVD in that it has 3 levels for you to choose from. I started at Level I, but it was too easy for me so I tried Level II. It is good for me and I can build up to Level III. I like that this DVD has us do a lot of stretching and slowly. It also helps us strengthen our arms and legs. It also helps us to be more flexible. Jane Adams does a very good job in leading us through the exercises. Review: Highly recommend. Youโre never too old to feel better. - My sisters and I have been using this dvd daily for four months. We are two (overweight) 68 year olds and a 74 year old, so definitely seniors. We have started noticing that we can step up and down curbs without having to think about. Getting in and out of the car requires no effort. We can put our pants on without sitting down or holding onto anything. Posture has improved and so has walking. With a little effort we can sit on the floor and get back up without having to crawl to support. Highly recommend but patience and dedication are required. Itโs well worth it.

If You Need a Gentle Senior Chair Practice, this is it!
I am a senior, but not quite at the chair yoga level. I used the 3rd level, which was more standing, with some sitting. I'm sure as I age, I will appreciate the chair yoga options. I'm glad I have them ready to use in the not too distant future. I also want to mention the background scenery is really beautiful. The step-by-step instruction are easy to follow. If you are an experienced yogi, you can also advance the poses to fit your level. For those who have balance issues this DVD is perfect as Jane reminds you to use the chair and where to position it for balance as she flows. She takes it slow and easy. I did purchase another of Jane Adams DVD's and hope that one will be more my specific senior speed.

Wonderful product for a person who is not a senior as well.
This DVD is a wonderful product. I am a fairly unhealthy man in my mid 40's and I was looking for a DVD that would get me started on a daily regimen of stretching and loosening my body. I wanted to start yoga but honestly found most DVD's far too advanced or difficult. It was a suggested by a nurse to try a yoga for seniors DVD instead and I stumbled upon this DVD. This is the perfect fit for me! Just because it has the word seniors is in the title does not make this DVD for seniors only. I honestly recommend this DVD for all people (who may be moderately or severely unhealthy) who want to start a new workout regimen. There are 3 different yoga workouts. The first is completely done in a chair and sitting position. I like this one because I have an office job and I do many of the movements throughout my workday to keep my body limber and moving. The second yoga workout is more advanced incorporating the use of a chair and standing and teaches basic yoga techniques. And the third yoga workout is the most advanced and it quite a workout. All three yoga workouts end with a short and relaxing cool down to get you focused and ready to continue with your day. So in summery...I just have to say that this DVD is perfect for anyone who is either just starting a yoga routine, or people (like myself) who are fairly unhealthy and looking to improve their health through yoga but not a senior and of course it would be a great workout for a senior as well. This is a good product and I simply cannot recommend it more.

PERFECT VIDEO FOR SENIOR CENTERS
The participants (20 ladies and 3 men) are all thrilled with the video, YOGA FOR SENIORS with JANE ADAMS. We watch and do the movements three times a week. We all feel that it is improving our balance, strength, flexibility. The exercises are "just right" for us - not too hard and not too easy. The pace of the instruction is perfect - we move along throughout the entire workout - we like the second level the best. Jane's voice is so soothing and pleasant that it is a pleasure to listen to while we do the work-out. We have been using it for a couple of months and we were devastated when we thought it would no longer be available to us. Each of us has experienced improvement and want to continue to use this for a long time in the future. One of the best parts of the video is the meditation part near the end. After this meditation, we feel fully refreshed and relaxed; although it is a simple meditation, it is very effective. Sometimes, the simpler ones are the easiest to do and the most fulfilling. Jane's quiet voice and kind chair exercises seem effortless but at the end, you know you've had a work-out and are ready for whatever follows in your life.

A brilliant road to better health and fitness
If you're looking for a way to improve your fitness or that of a parent or grandparent, I can't think of a better place to start. I've no experience with the shorter, completely seated workout on this DVD. Last year, I purchased the first edition which has one work out very similar to the middle one here on the second edition. The third workout is more difficult--we plan to work our way through this eventually, but for my 85 year old mother it was a little too much so we went back to the more modest middle workout. Key differences between the first and second edition's middle workout: The sound is set louder on the first edition. If you're using headphones that aren't always loud enough, the first edition could be better. The second edition shows multiple camera angles, so you can better see what you're meant to do. Ms Adams has modified this workout a little bit. In the end it's four minutes longer. You might think 36-40 minutes is a long time and worry it'll become tedious, like I did. After doing it for a few months, my mother still looks forward to it every day and it still surprises us both how quickly it goes by. My mother's posture, back pain, balance and endurance have improved. Between them, my parents have had years of professional physical therapy (both in-home and at rehab facility) and I've never seen a significant improvement like this. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a set-back last month where her knee was hurt (considerable pain for a few weeks but nothing fractured, broken or torn). Now we're quickly getting back to where she'd been--I credit this workout (which she still wanted to do despite the pain) for the speedy recovery, perhaps preventing a worse injury. The middle workout is the perfect gentle, yet serious nudge toward better health and fitness my mom needed. You or yours won't do every exercise with effortless perfection. It might take weeks to work through the whole workout, as it did for us. And if this becomes too little of a challenge, the third workout (which we've only tried once, not quite making it halfway) looks fantastic too. I thought so highly of the first edition that buying the second edition for Seniors, then another Jane Adams DVD for me was a no-brainer. Nothing is for everyone, but I'll bet this comes closer to disproving that than anything else. The value is far greater than anything I've bought in this millennium.

Good practice for beginners!
Buyers should know seller takes a $7.98 restocking fee if unhappy with their purchase! That may be upsetting for those on fixed incomes! This dvd was just not right for my yoga practice. The setting is lovely though.

Love this easy to follow yoga video
I am 81 with a variety of ailments that make it hard for me to exercise. This easy to follow gentle yoga program is wonderful. The instructor, Jane Adams, has a very relaxing manner. The movements are well described and are slow enough to follow. I like that there are different exercise levels offered. Have done 1 & 2. Look forward to level 3. Iโve been using it for about 3 weeks & already feel a positive difference in my strength & balance. I occasionally alternate this DVD with โStronger Seniors Workout Programโ with Anne Pringle Burnell, also avail on Amazon. Gives me a little variety. Like both.

Great dvd for seniors
I am 67 and purchased this dvd after a hip replacement. It helped regain my flexibility and strength and was very easy to follow. Would definitely recommend. Very good initiation to yoga. June Adamโs voice is calming and a good variety of exercises.

Yoga for Seniors with Jane Adams is useful for seniors who are not avid exercisers
My wife and I (in our mid-eighties) do exercises in the Social Room of our apartment building, sometimes with a friend. We started with three Moving With Mike DVD's, which all have the same routine with slightly different exercises for balance, stretch and strength. We then bought Jane Adams' Balance & Strength DVD, and later her Yoga for Seniors DVD. I find Jane's routines exruciatingly slow (I prefer Mike's pace), although I feel worked out when done. We also have a couple of cardio oriented DVD's, Angie Miller's Cardio & Strength Training Workout for Seniors and Sue Grant's Older & Wiser Workout for Active Older Adults, but I am the only one interested in the cardio bit. All that said, we find Jane Adams' Yoga for Seniors DVD useful because it offers a variety of exercises at different levels: Level 1 (26 minutes) done all in a chair, Level 2 (40 minutes) alternating sitting and standing by the chair, and Level 3 (55 minutes) with more challenging standing poses. We have done only Level 2 so far, but my wife claims that after two sessions her hip is no longer reluctant to move. Difficult to offer a rating, because it would not suit all tastes, but for seniors who are not avid exercisers it serves a very useful purpose.

Well thought out Yoga for Seniors with 3 Levels
I didn't feel old doing these exercises. I was able to quickly figure out what level I could do and still challenge myself. When COVID-19 caused our community centre to close I searched for the same DVD so I could do the work at home. I then bought Jane's Balance & Strength DVD to add to my morning routines. I love her calm demeanour and obvious knowledge and experience in making us older adults become the best we can be and increase our longevity and give us confidence to navigate our world. Even younger adults in our centre found the exercises a great way to begin to challenge themselves to higher levels of activity after a long absence from exercise. Thank you Jane Adams.
