Good coffee acid reducer
Keeps me from having acid reflux when I add it to my coffee. Does not leave a separate taste. Works great.

Works great
I'm pleasantly surprised how effective this is. Right away I noticed I don't have the post-coffee acid reflux that I usually have. I'm going to ask my GI doctor about it next time we meet. For now, I'm thrilled! It doesn't mix well, but it's not too bad and doesn't taste like anything.

Works . . . just Overpriced, I think
This product works for me. As a coffee lover, I kept looking for solutions online to curb my intolerance of the acid. I found that if I took a Prilosec, chewed 2 Beano tablets, added a little baking soda and a dash of salt to the coffee, swallowed a big gulp of heaving whipping cream just before drinking, and took sips of water between sips of coffee, I could drink half a cup every other day with minimal discomfort. When I discovered this product, I didn’t dare try it “cold turkey,” but eliminated the aforementioned precursors one by one. Yesterday I was down to just the gulp of whipping cream and some water at intervals. I was able to enjoy a full cup with no side effects or pain. Today was my first solo cup of coffee with my usual Cremora but with no precursors or water intervals. I am a little uncomfortable...a little bloated, a little heartburn...but so far, not the usual “I think I may die” kind of stomach cramping. I will likely go back to at least one precursor, but it is still nice to be able to have a full cup of coffee daily. I also used it for a tomato-based vegetable soup, and it worked nicely in the soup as well. While you cannot taste the product itself, it does change the taste of the food. It greatly reduces the tang of the tomatoes, for example, and removes the acrid taste of the coffee...the latter is an improved taste, making the coffee smoother. I have mixed emotions about my preference in the tangy taste of tomatoes, but can attest that there is no actual bad taste from the product itself. So functionally, it is a great product. However, it is quite pricey. It recommends two packets per cup or food item (each packet contains about a pinch of product). The cost of adding product is several times the cost of brewed (not K-cup) coffee or about 50 cents per cup. Doesn’t sound like much, but to put that in perspective, a couple having at two cups of acidic food or beverage a day would add more than $60 a month to their monthly food bill. The highest group being intolerant of acidic foods is senior adults, and that kind of hit can be hard on many with a fixed incomes. Note that I am in no way condemning the developer...new products are expensive to bring to market. I’m just saying for many household, it may be cost prohibitive.

Do Not Use This Product!
This product contains potassium hydroxide otherwise known as potash lye. A Google search yields among many other horrors the following--"Lye water (sometimes called 'Lime Water') is a strong (caustic) liquid that is safe to use in very small amounts in cooking, but it can be dangerous if lye water is swallowed undiluted straight from the bottle. It can cause severe corrosive burns to the throat, esophagus and stomach with permanent damage if swallowed." And this-- "Potassium hydroxide (KOH) is an alkali that penetrates and destroys the skin by dissolving the keratin. It causes an irritant reaction in the skin, dependent upon concentration used and to which body region it is applied. Presumably its purpose is to neutralize the acidity of the coffee. I just threw the box in the garbage. I recommend that you do the same. Do your chemistry experiments outside your body!

Isn’t dissolving
Purchased the packets first and it seemed to work well enough to buy the bottle. This time around it doesn’t seem to dissolve at all. After hot coffee this morning I found granules at bottom of cup. Two cups of boiling water and minutes of stirring they are still there. Thinking that it didn’t work since I still felt sick symptoms.
