What does the term "without springs" refer to?

There is another Model of this Explorer Bike Rack made for bikes with disc brake. This model has a spring-loaded cantilever section hinged on the back end of the rack. This section helps hold small items onto the rack without the use of bungee cords. I think this is what the term "without springs" refers to. The regular Topeak Explorer Bike Rack do not have this cantilever section. Cargo on this rack needs to be secured down on the rack with bungee cords, rope, etc. A picture of this Topeak Explorer Bike Rack for bikes with disc-brake can be found on their product web site.

Will this rak fits a disk brake bicycle?

Where does a mtx quicktrack compatible cargo basket attach? will it clip on to the spring or to the main part of the rack?

It clips onto the spring. It slides in the track, but not as far as it would on a track with no spring, and if clips to the handle of the spring, not to the frame of the rack. Moreover, the handle of the spring is not the same diameter as the frame of the rack, so I find the attachment to be less secure - there is more wobble than there is when it clicks to the frame. Personally, I find this problematic and disappointing. I am considering whether to remove the clip or return the rack.
