BEST pet comb ever!! LOVE LOVE LOVE
This is hands down, the best pet grooming comb! I have 2 long haired persian cats and 2 shih tzu puppies. Grooming them requires a LOT of work. I now save so much time combing my fur babies with much less effort. I have all kinds of combs, flea combs, wide tooth combs, slicker brushes also, small/medium/large, with/without silicone tips, and they are all just OK. I also have the Furminator deshedding tool, which I think is too harsh on my cats hair, ripping out a lot of it and irritating my cats. This comb is great at dematting and removing loose hair while at the same time being very gentle and also making the hair/coat look super fluffy and supple (so works like a comb and brush in one), without roughly snagging and pulling the hair. It has a very gentle and smooth glide, but yet super efficient, not pulling/removing too much hair, but just the necessary amount that's loose. It's also quicker to groom compared to other combs and brushes I've had. And my cats don't seem to mind it as much as my other combs/brushes. Was hesitant about getting another comb as I already have too many but saw something similar on Instagram and gave it try. LOVE IT! There are a few Chinese versions of this brush but I decided to go with this brand name as I like and already have their slicker brush.

I've bought every cat brush on Amazon. Buy this one for all cats.
The only comb you need. I have bought just about every style brush/comb for cats on Amazon that you can buy. The Hertz Fur Fetcher and this comb is all you need. The Hertz Fur Fetcher is great for weekly use and removing undercoat fast. My cats don't hate it but they find this comb a lot less annoying. It is very effective for short and long hair cats as all the other brushes only work for short hair and honestly this comb catches more hair and leaves your cat's looking coat looking much better.

Works really well!
I've had cats most of my life but when a fuzzy orange kitten wandered into our life and turned into a beautiful, long-haired ball of floof, I didn't know exactly what to do with her coat! I've never had a long-haired kitty before. I had a couple other brushes on hand for my two short-haired cats, but neither really seemed to work well for her long, silky coat. (One was just a bristle brush and didn't remove anything; the other was a round head brush that got *some* fur but mainly just annoyed her.) I googled "best brush for long haired cats" and this comb came up. It does a really good job getting in the various layers of my long haired cat. Removed a nice amount of hair but not too much the way something like a Furminator can do. I like the dual layer size of the comb's teeth and the fur stays nicely in place against the edge so you can easily remove it in one clump instead of it just flying everywhere. The long-haired cat is still young (10 months) and not a huge fan of the combing process. She tries to squirm and bite it. But I got a lot better results faster with this versus other brushes I've tried. And I think quick is probably best given her lack of patience. I did try it out on my short hair cat and it worked nicely on her too. In fact, she really loved it and purred and was rubbing to get more combing. Of course the amount of fur coming off her wasn't as much as the long haired but she has much less to start with. So I can see this being useful for both long and short hair though probably better for long. Overall, I'm very pleased!

Wish the teeth were just a bit longer, otherwise, very good
I've been owned by two beautiful long-haired cats in twenty years, one a Chinchilla (i.e., the Fancy Feast cat's breed) & the other a purebred Maine Coon. Both cats required extensive combing, so I know my cat combs (I've owned five or six in my lifetime, and I have to say, I think this is overall the best). My first cat had to be combed daily, and had very fine but plentiful fur. He was a former show cat, before I bought him, so he was used to combing. My Maine Coon & current pet, on the other hand, has a silky but dense three-layer coat which sheds heavily in the springtime. She loves brushing, but hates combing. However, it has to be done once a week, or she'll get hairballs, and with my beige non-Stainmaster carpet, that's definitely no fun. Her undercoat alone is off the charts. She is thirty pounds & has more fur on her tail than some kinds of cats have over their whole bodies. Being so big because of the breed she is, possessing twenty sharp claws & a finely-honed set of four fangs expert at delivering a fatal bite to the jugular, my beloved cat is...ahem...a handful. I needed a lightweight but firm comb with good teeth in it. The last comb I had, previously used on my Chinchilla for years, my cat's fur literally laughed at, breaking two of the metal teeth off upon first usage. Not so with this comb- with it's long & short metal teeth intersperced closely together, it works great on dense Maine Coon furriness. My cat's fur is so long & thick that I wish all of the teeth were a little bit longer, just because the comb fills up SO fast with her fur. Because the teeth of the comb are so close together, it takes a little work to pull this baby bear's fur out of the comb each time it's full (which would be often). The comb works well, because each time I use it, I have enough excess fur each week to stuff a pillow sham with, line a pair of slippers & make a fur stole. The wooden handle is fairly ergonomic, and very well-made. The price is great for the quality- I couldn't find anything at the pet stores around here that even came close, and they were all pricey. Amazon came through again! The teeth aren't bendable, and are very well-made. I like that the comb is fairly lightweight & easy-to-grip, as my arthritic hands get tired fairly fast, and I've got to contain my furball with my own death grip as I'm combing with the other hand at all times. Be prepared to get a LOT of fur off of your pet with this serious comb.

so he may just like getting brushed in general
Let me start off by saying, my cat LOVES getting brushed with this comb. I must admit that I didn't brush him before purchasing this, so he may just like getting brushed in general, but every time I bring this out he immediately starts purring. I almost don't even have to brush him becuase he rubs his whole body up against the comb himself. My cat might just be a little freak, but if your cat is anything like mine and you are worried about how he will react to this (as I was a bit, since it looks kind of poke-y with the hard metal), don't be! As for the effectiveness, this comb really does remove a ton of hair. I just "adopted" my cat in November (I found him outside on the street as a stray and brought him in) and he has been shedding like crazy since the weather changed. I am not exaggerating, it was so bad that if you rubbed your hand the length of his body you would come up with an entire hand full of hair, and you could do that 10-15 times in a row and still get the same amount of hair each time. This comb really does capture a lot of that hair. It is also super easy to pluck the hair out to throw away if it gets full before you are finished brushing. I have been using this on my cat about 2-3 times a week, and I definitely notice a difference in the amount of hair that I am finding on my furniture and clothes. My cat's coat has also never looked shinier or healthier! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective shedding comb that their cat will love. Five stars!

Despiration Over
I have an older long haired cat whose long fur was for the last 6 months or so getting mats. She used to keep her fur so beautiful on her own when she was young but she cannot do it now and needs help. Lumps were everywhere and she looked and felt miserable. I tried everything. China loves to be combed so it wasn't a problem of her not liking the assorted brushes/combs I purchased - they were just not effective. This past week I purchased over $70 of several 5 star rated pet products from the "love glove" to several slickers to a cat shaped rubber brush and a dog shaped rubber brush and this Safari comb. Today I received most of the items and decided to try the Safari comb first. (NOTE: I purchased a Furminator last year and used a few times but it messed up her top coat and now sits unused in the box I keep pet supplies) AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I combed her slowly along her back and sides and the long hair under her chin/neck area and it cut through the mats easily. There were piles of hair everywhere but you could clearly see China was much more comfortable and looks great. The small mats close to her skin on her belly and behind her legs are are too numerous to tackle at one time. However, I have no doubts now that they will be taken care of. I am on Amazon writing this review and I will order 2 more as spares by the time this review posts. Pros 1. Is light and easy to hold. 2. Glides along the cat's LONG fur easily 3. Cuts easily though those small lumps of mats near the skin 4. FANTASTIC tool Warning: It does not work on short haired cats as a comb to get tangles out but that doesn't stop my short haired cat from coming around when she sees I am using it on the long haired cat because the tongs combing along her skin make her purr.

Amazing Cat Brush!
I haven't honestly tried a huge variety of brushes, but I had bought a few previously and was extremely disappointed. I have a short hair and a long hair, and this get fluff off both and pulls massive tufts of fur from the bottomless furry pit that is our long hair. She is a bit grumpy in general, but she seems to love it. She doesn't run when she sees it and even if she starts getting angry over a snag, a couple soothing brush strokes calms her back down. I think this is because this brush's tines aren't sharp so it is basically impossible to hurt her even when I get a little overzealous (oops!!) and she seems relieved at the truly massive amounts of dense fur this can quickly remove. My husband doesn't generally get excited about these things but even he loves brushing her. We have gone from brushing her almost never, to brushing her almost daily because this brush makes it downright pleasant for both Cat and us. It is also so sturdy that I can't see ever needing another brush. Love it!

AMAZINGLY EFFECTIVE AT REMOVING LARGE AMOUNTS OF LOOSE CAT HAIR FROM THE COAT
Removes an enormous amount of loose hair from the cat's coat with minimal effort and strokes. I had first gotten a slicker brush and found it was only poorly effective at removing loose hair. But I didn't realize how poorly it was doing the job until I ordered this comb and found that it was removing 10-15 times the amount of loose hair with only a few strokes. When petting the cat after using this comb, I didn't find the usually hairs and dander coming out of her coat. This is great if you have a cat that doesn't tolerate long grooming sessions. You achieve a lot in a very short time and then can let your cat go about his/her business. NOTE: I purchased this after watching an expert cat grooming video that said the tool of choice for grooming cats to remove their loose hair IS a shedding comb, not a slicker brush. The brush is just the first step for cats with longer hair that might get matted or knotted. My cat has medium length, thick hair, but it never gets matted or knotted; so the comb is the best choice to reduce shedding throughout the house and on furniture. Very glad I purchased it. I give her treats while I am combing so she's focused on her treats while I comb.

Surprisingly good quality
I didn't expect for this to be such good quality, but I'm greatly pleased by it. My cat loves this thing and will sit and purr like crazy while I'm using it. It works wonders. I had another de-shedding brush (also from Amazon) that he not only hated, but that did almost nothing in his coat, which isn't even that long (he's a tabby). This brush works quickly and smoothly. You still have to be careful not to brush too roughly since this is a hard comb, not a soft brush. It's a beautiful product too. The handle might seem a bit small, but any bigger and it would've been harder to maneuver around my cat's body. It collects shedding hair easily and, unlike my last comb, you don't have to stop every 3-5 strokes to pull the cat hair out from between the teeth. Overall, thoroughly pleased - highly recommend!

My ragdoll cat is very tolerant of this cat comb. Seems to work well at keeping his fur from matting. Happy I bought it.

The best cat comb
I am a mobile cat groomer, this is the only comb that I recommend. I would be lost without it. It's often hard to find in the UK (I have ordered direct from America recently) If you have a cat that needs undercoat removing/gets knotty then this is the comb for you.

Greatest comb ever for long haired cats
Greatest comb ever for long haired cats. Have had this comb before, and I confess I have a habit of not knowing where I lay it down sometimes so hence the purchase of a second comb. It gets rid of the thick undercoat with ease and as for hairballs, I don't have to cut them out anymore. Most of the time my cat doesn't sit still, but with this one he will tolerate combing for at least twice as long as other combs I have tried. Great product - all I can say is 'if you have a cat that doesn't like the comb, try this one on for size.'
