Works for me!
Great product, works like it's supposed to. I use this to cool down when I have a migraine or sinus headache and it works! I don't like to use a cold pack for my headaches because they seem to make them worse. I wet the towel with cold tap water, wring and fold it in half then lay the towel over my forehead, eyes and sinuses. I also use this when I feel hot after work or traveling in the car. Instant relief! I bought 3 different brands of cooling towels (Chill-its, Frogg Togg and Mission EnduraCool) to try and I like the Chill-Its the most: lightweight, doesn't feel like a wet towel or too spongy in texture, was the 2nd coldest towel among the 3 brands and stayed cool for a couple hours at least in upper 80s degrees heat & heavy humidity (I live in Hawaii) before needing to be recharged/wet again. It doesn't have a strong odor like some reviewers stated at least not IME, does have a chamois-like cloth texture whether wet or dry (almost like the chamois cloths for cars but they don't keep you cool like Chill-Its, I tried one out of curiosity) and is easy to care for - just wash with mild detergent (preferably fragrance-free) and hang to dry then store in case or store in its' case moist in the refrigerator as recommended by manufacturer to make it colder longer. Reasonably priced and cheapest of the 3 at less than $9. Frogg Toggs was a very close 2nd in my opinion: it was the coldest of the 3 brands I tried and also stayed cold the longest. It was the heaviest of the 3 towels though, bled blue dye when I first washed it (I got one in varsity blue); has this slightly spongy texture and a latex smell initially. Frogg Togg was reasonably priced at $10+. My brother immediately snapped it up and used it during a recent pistol competition where it kept him nice and cool and comfortable throughout. Mission EnduraCool towel I liked the least, I bought it at a local sports store where it was the only available cooling towel. I wasn't impressed, it just felt like a regular wet towel after following the instructions, even tried cold water and snapping it several more times with no appreciable difference in coldness (only got cold with use of cold water, but warmed up quick within half an hour). It was 2nd heaviest in weight when wet/damp among the 3 towels I tried, it felt wet even when wrung well and had a slight chemical smell. It does have a nice silky-like fabric feel and looks the least like a car finishing cloth among the 3 brands, was ready to use/wet right out of the case (the other 2 brands need to be washed first before use) but that's all it had going for it. It was the most expensive at more than $20 + sales tax but I needed some cooling towels last minute to send with my parents who were going out of the country at the time. I would definitely buy the Chill-Its towel again when I need another cooling towel.

It really cools down.
Very light to put into the carry one, very helpful to travel to destinations with hot weather. Cools down body and helps to enjoy strolling hot Mediterranean towns streets or South Asia, or California hikes.

Long Lasting Cooling
Purchased 26 July 2019. I rate the towel 4-star based on that I have only used twice, but impressed with how long it last (cooling). Compared to the other cooling towel I have this one is amazing. I live in Mississippi. I cut 2 acres of grass yesterday, trimmed with a push mower. The heat index was a 107%. I broke a little sweat trimining. While cutting grass with riding mower I noticed how cool the towel felt on my neck and shoulders. When I got though cutting I was not hot like I usally feel after cutting. The towel does dry hard but when you wet it again it is very flexable. It's big enuff to fit inside a shirt and wrap around your neck, and long enuff to lay on your chest to some degee. After using the towel two times I was very impressed how good it cools and "how long" it last. It takes me about 2:20 mins to cut my yard. The towel was still wet when I finished. Previous week I cut 4 acres at my church. Stayed cool the entire time. Towel started to dry out towards th end---simple to restore by wetting again. I did not snap or swirl the towel the times I have used it but noticed how cool the towel felt when put it around my neck but will next time: did not know you were suppose to. Since I do not use it everyday, I hand rinse it and let it dry flat or hang on a clothes hanger. Have to say it is the best towel I have every used that last a long time (cool to the skin). I have suggested to other friends that complained their towels do not last long---provide cooling relifef. Does a great job.

VERY good competitor to the Frogg Togg Chilly Pad
Here are my initial impressions of the Ergodyne Chill-Its 6602 Cooling Towel and some thoughts compared to two other cooling towels that I own, The Frogg Togg Chilly Pad ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002TZ60V2/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3BFTJF7TA5CPX ) and the U-Cool towel ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010N02S56/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) My use case for this type of product are “long” walks outside in the Florida heat and humidity. My impressions of the other two .. I LOVE the Frogg Togg .. while it did fall to pieces after year of heavy use (parts of it … sort of flaked off to be exact) … it REALLY cools me off. The U-Cool I hate to mention since it was a gift from someone who thought it would 100% be as good as the Frogg Togg. The U-Cool well … for light indoor (but whats to say the air conditioning is not what is cooling you off) workouts in a gym … perhaps Its good … for my use case … it’s not NOW GETTING TO THE POINT OF THIS review, first I noticed even by the pictures, the Ergodyne is sort of (I cant say for sure material wise … I am using the “eye”/”feel” test ) like the Frogg Togg. The Chill-It that I ordered was not as LONG as the Frogg Togg, where I tuck it into my shirt, though it is wider. I did wear the Chill-It out on what seemed like a record setting day of heat and humidity and noting that it’s not as long (so it cools a little more) … I WAS cooled off, though this was a hard day to judge since it was SO humid (even for south Florida) …. The week prior there was a similar day, where the Frogg Togg which I LOVE didn’t “seem like it was working” though like the Ergodyne Chill-It, I KNOW it was,… it was just a super extreme day. Please note that in all three “cooling towel tests” I used COLD water (really cold) from a refrigerator. The fact that I got the Chill-It… .for a few dollars less than a Frogg Togg (which I am still in the market for), was even better. I would already put the Chill-it at least on par with the Frogg Togg, noting on a very hot but less extreme day, it may be 100% on par with it … right now I would put it at say 85% to 90% as good as the Frogg Togg and considering the other “cooling towel” I have tried … even 85% to 90% means “Two SOLID thumbs up” … and “I definitely recommend it”. Only time will tell if this product lasts, without falling apart like the Frogg Togg has been doing lately. To borrow the format of another reviewer. (Best to Worst out of the three I have tried) A) Frogg Togg – Maybe its because have had it the longest, and that extra length does help, though Ergodyne may have a longer towel too, I just didn’t get that one. B) Ergodyne – Hard to judge in my limited use. SO far the material and cooling effect with the same temperature water is …. well I said 85 to 90% before … actually it may be more 90 to 95% as good as the Frogg Togg.. .again so far C) The U-Cool … for some use cases where a light towel is desired it may not be bad, though … It just doesn’t work for me … “snapping it”, to activate the cooling does nothing but shake more water out, drying it faster… which defeats the point.

Doesn't work so great for travel
I traveled in Japan during the hottest week of the year, and in preparation I decided to try out this cooling towel. I am very sad to report it was mostly useless. #1 - It doesn't stay wet long enough. Instructions say wring it out after wetting -- but I found it I did that, it would be almost dry before I left the hotel room 5 min. later. So I would wet the towel and sort of wring it out, and 20 min. later the thing was practically dry. 20 min. is not long enough when you have to lug the thing around the rest of the time. Which brings me to... #2 - It's really, really bulky. When wet, it's soft and flexible, I really like the feel -- although, it's too big for what I want -- but when dry, it gets really stiff, so I couldn't tie it around a strap or anything, and it's pretty bulky, taking up precious space in my day pack. It got to be more of a burden than it was worth. #3 - It's cool, but it's not THAT cool. A handkerchief or towel does the trick, and you can double these up as hand-towels or sweat-absorbers. But on the bright side, I love the color. I think it would be useful for non-travel purposes (as most other reviews seem to indicate). Whether overheated working around the house, or especially yardwork where you have access to the hose, hiking if you will be around water, and perhaps something like biking or sports, I can see this being a nice accessory. For travel, however, not recommended. (Note I had no real indication how the product would be for travel, I just figured I'd try it. It's worked ok around the house so far, if it turns out well I'll up it to 4s.)

Great option that works as expected
Right off the bat, if you haven't dealt with these PVA towels, know that they're different than a normal microfiber towel. Think of them like a really thin sponge. You have to squeeze them when adding water to make sure it's fully absorbed, and it gets really stiff when it's dry. These aren't actual problems, just something that makes them different. This difference, though, is why this towel type is superior. They're able to hold more water, so they won't dry out as fast. Also, even when it's soaked, it doesn't just sit there dripping everywhere like a standard towel. These towels aren't the same as being in an air conditioned room. It's not magic. It does, though, help keep you a little cooler when you have to be outside in the summer. It's definitely more effective in dry weather, but even when it's humid, it can still be beneficial.

Ergodyne Chill Its 6602 Cooling Towel, Long Lasting Cooling Relief, Pink
Received TODAY, 7/3. I'm in Illinois, where it is currently 85-95 degrees. The actual HUMIDITY is what gets you! Product not what I expected, as far as material is concerned. As I read some of the reviews AFTER purchase, (some, but not enough prior), someone described the feeling as, like yoga mat material. Another customer described it as "tire material". I am not a fan of the feel of the material used. Seems somewhat BULKY. I don't know if you have a similar product that is narrow like a men's tie. I think that would feel a lot better around the neck, and lay flatter, as well as changing the material used. I purchased 2 pink & 2 blue, maybe keeping one (pink) for myself, and giving the other ones to delivery drivers. I will see how the delivery drivers like them. I can't speak on the drying process, nor the actual length of time it stays cool. I guess I misread also, as I thought it would be cold, like freezer cold. Not just "cool". But a plus is, you CAN PUT IT IN THE FREEZER. Cheap enough that if one doesn't like it, they can toss it, which is what I most likely will do with mine.

Heat relief - it works!
Our sons play baseball most of the summer, and with the 100 degree temps recently I decided to order this towel and try it. We've used wet towels and even frozen freezer packs with mixed success, and were looking for something that didn't freeze the skin or get warm. I was amazed at the way it works! Yes, it does look like a regular towel, but unlike wet towels, it doesn't get warm when applied to hot skin. I took this cooling towel to the ball field, tucked in among the ice and drinks in our cooler. I wrung it out and let our son wipe his face and arms with it, then put it around his neck and shoulders. It stayed cool for a long time, and just waving it in the air re-cools it for more relief. When it started drying out, I re-wet it and my son was noticeably cooler for the entire game. I didn't notice any unpleasant odor from it, like some reviewers did. I wrote our name on it with a Sharpie marker, and rinsed it well in the sink before the first use. I also threw it in the washing machine with the uniforms after the game, and then stored it damp. It comes in a hard plastic tube for storage when the season is over, and I plan to order a couple more of these towels to help deal with the heat. Great product! Edited to add: we also bought a Frogg Togg towel to use during this hot summer. We like this Chill-Its towel better than the Frogg Togg because it has more of a chamois-like texture. Both towels work equally well, and both towels come with a plastic storage tube, but the Frogg Togg towel has more of a rubbery texture that we found less pleasant against our skin.

Keeps a tradie cool!
Great size and definitely works. I put it under the tap, wring it out then give it a few shakes. Keeps me cool for about an hour before I need a redo. I work as a tradie so am always running hot!

Great Product!
I cannot emphasise enough how this product has helped us! We have a child with special needs who is unable to cope with alot of sun and unable to regulate body temperature also has allergies to most man -made fabrics . After searching for sun hats which made his head hotter and itchy and trying everything we possibly could think of my daughter found this product so we thought we would give it a try. Thankfully it has worked!! He is able to carry it in his school bag and put it on his head or wherever he needs it and no dripping which is also good as he doesnt like his clothes wet. We take it everywhere, its in a handy case and it helps with for his Autistic meltdowns sometimes.Massive relief that it hasnt caused a skin reaction and we are getting him the sunhat. School staff think its a brilliant idea too. Made life so much easier!
