After 3 Years, Going Strong!
I like to submit reviews after I've used a product for a while -- we live in world where so many things are built to break, and when you're paying this much for a vacuum, you want to know it will stand the test of time. First, this is the stripped-down version, but the sucking power is tremendous -- enough that it easily takes care of our hardwood floors, but also works for our heavy rugs, even a large "shag" rug. Lesser vacuums will use spinning rollers to move carpet fibers around, but I'm pretty sure that equal or superior cleaning can be accomplished just with the massive suction power of this vacuum. We love that it's also light and quiet. The simple attachments are well thought-out -- you can easily shorten or lengthen the working end, and the brush attachment is GREAT for cleaning window screens. After three years, the cord is still retracting like the day we bought it, and the suction is just as strong. Note that this is an investment, and to keep it healthy you probably want to go with miele brand bags made especially for this vacuum. They're pricey, and if you're plastic conscious, they have a plastic attachment on each bag. But the way they filter the air (along with the other filters in the vacuum) means that super-clean air emerges from the top of the vacuum. That's another plus, by the way -- the external air vent is on top of the vacuum. We've had other vacuums where it vents out the back, often blowing dust and dirt around. But straight up means that that doesn't happen. I'm trying to think of some cons, but after trying so many other lesser vacuums in the past and having so many break (cord not retracting, power button malfunctioning, etc.), we're just so happy with our "princess miele". A final note is that the three years of service from this vacuum haven't been gentle years -- we've gone through two moves, and loaned it repeatedly to a neighbor who didn't have a vacuum. It's been used pretty hard. As for me, I'd rather spend more on a product that not only works great, but stands the test of time. Ends up being cheaper on the wallet and easier on the landfills to not have to buy vacuums repeatedly (which is what we did before this -- once we bought two in one year!) If you're looking for an easy-to-use vacuum that kicks butt and keeps going strong, this is your baby.

AWESOME VACUUM CLEANER!
I PURCHASED THIS VACUUM CLEANER IN 2020 AND HERE IT IS 2026 AND IT'S STILL GOING STRONG! THIS IS ONE STURDY AND WELL BUILT VACUUM CLEANER. THE ONLY THING I'VE HAD TO ORDER THROUGHOUT THE YEARS ARE REPLACEMENT BAGS. I AM NOW GOING TO ORDER THE SMALL BRUSH BECAUSE MINE IS KIND GETTING A BIT WORN OUT, ALTHOUGH IT STILL WORKS. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. I AM NOT ONE FOR WRITING REVIEWS MUCH, BUT I FELT COMPELLED TO DO SO HERE BECAUSE THE PRODUCT DESERVES RECOGNITION. WORTH EVERY PENNY. VERY GOOD SUCTION POWER; NOT TOO LOUD. IF I EVER HAVE TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT, I WILL GET THE VERY SAME BRAND AND STYLE. I LENT IT TO A NEIGHBOR A FEW DAYS AGO AND THEY LOVED IT TOO.

Five Star Vacuum Cleaner That's Great For Everyday Needs!
The Miele Classic C1 Canister Vacuum is a quality choice. As I write, have had mine for about 6-months. It thoroughly cleans thick or Berber carpets and easy to move between rooms with its long power cord. The motor has powerful suction to pick up objects such as food crumbs, tiny paper, small plastics, and pet hair. Canister encasing is sturdy plastic which does not break or scrape easily. Attachments fit well and useful on most upholstery surfaces. The vacuum is best suited for basic cleaning. Retail price for the vacuum is around $400, but sometimes had for less. The only drawback to report is vacuum bags/filters are pricey if one uses genuine branded replacements. So far, am completely satisfied!

Great vacuum for me - update*32
* I wanted to update my review, now that I have been using this vacuum since November 2023. I love it even more, the more I use it. It is EXTREMELY easy to maneuver and to move from room to room. The wheels glide nicely, the telescoping wand makes for easier reaching and the swivel floor brush fits easily low furniture. It's also relatively quiet and the suction is great. The best vacuum I've ever owned, hands down. I have been looking for a lightweight, easy to maneuver vacuum for last several years. With degenerative disk disease and arthritic hips, the very idea of vacuuming made me cringe; I would put it off as long as possible due to the pain of using my top-heavy Shark Flex. Also never really got on board with bagless systems. I've been reading recommendations and reviews for a vacuum with good cleaning power and ease of use. The Miele Classic C1 Pure seemed to offer what I needed, without the necessity of refinancing my home to purchase!! The Miele was easy to assemble - like 10 minutes, max. I just tried it in the livingroom and kitchen and am beyond impressed. It's quiet both the floor head and canister move along my hardwood floors like a dream. I like the various suction options, the way the floor head swivels to access all the areas and even the retractable cord. The actual canister is relatively small and easy to put into a closet. I just got this yesterday, so can't know the reliability over time, but Miele seems to be a quality appliance. I think I may actually "enjoy" vacuuming with this great product. I would recommend the Miele Classic C1 Pure Power. Wish I'd discovered it sooner.

Good machine but no motorized head. Great for wood or tile floors and very low pile area rugs.
Good machine, easy to maneuver and picks up well. However, I bought it to use for more in-depth cleaning, to supplement my Dyson, which I find is best for quick cleanups because it dies too quickly. Wanted a bagged system because I have several pets. My issue with this new vacuum cleaner is more a consequence of my failure to consider the limitations of the type of vacuum head this machine has. It’s a flat-faced plastic piece that slides along the floor or carpet. There’s no motorized aspect to the vacuuming action. I assumed it had some type of brush and motorized head because every canister I’ve had has had them. So it’s not so good for carpets. However, I have only 2 small, very low-pile area rugs and the rest of my floors are hardwood, so I can manage with this machine. I have purchased the parquet floor attachment but haven’t used it yet. Other reviewers speak positively about it. I do like the light weight of this machine, its maneuverability, and suction power.

The perfect vacuume for houseful of cats
So I hate vacuums these days. Spending $300 on vacuumes that last one year and then have a horrible or their motors give off a burnt smell. I hated the bag less versions because of my allergies and strong sense of smell.. This time I spend about a month researching different vacuums trying to find the one that best eliminates fleas. And my cats got fleas this year and I had to go through the horrible ten step process of getting them evicted. Emptying the bag less vacuums I had grossed me out so I decided, though setting aside politics and history, I decided to buy a German designed product because quality is hard to argue with and the vacuums is worth every penny. This C2 grey Miele has no moving parts to break. My teenage daughter actually uses it too because it’s light weight and sleek design. The suction is AMAZING! After three months of extensive vacuuming and laundry I have no fleas in the house and I only had to change the bag once and didn’t sneeze. The dirt stays contained in the bag. I bought the grey midrange model but wished I could buy the white one or red one because I love those colors more but they were above my budget. Did I mention that I also have birds and their feathers and seeds get everywhere. Also the cats kitty litter also clogged up the bag less vacuum filters. The Miele handles everything and I do t have to touch the dirt.

I LOVE this vacuum
This just arrived yesterday, and I've been vacuuming ever since. The floors, the couch, the curtains, the top of the cabinets, the AC vents, the dogs. I don't think my apartment has ever been cleaner. I specifically love: The suction: I live in a loft apartment in an old renovated mill, and there are huge cracks between the floorboards of the beautiful hardwood floors. Over the years, lots of stuff has fallen between them, especially considering I have dogs. So dog fur, pieces of their food and treats, tons of dust, etc. The suction on this thing is so great that it sucked all that stuff right up from between the boards. I don't think this apartment has ever been cleaner than it is now. The noise: It's quite quiet compared to the shop vac I had prior to this vacuum. My dogs hate/attack it far less than my previous vacuum. I'm used to fighting off dogs while vacuuming; this thing is quiet enough that they don't perceive it as a threat. Which makes the process easier. The filters: I have a sensitivity to mold and have been very sick in the past from black mold at another apartment. I know this building has water damage too, but there is no visible water damage in my unit. However, as humid at the climate here is, and as much as I can smell a musty odor, I became very concerned about recurrent mold exposure - plus became symptomatic again. I got a great dehumidifier to dry the unit out, and this vacuum, unlike others I've had in the past, does not disturb and throw dust/mold spores up into the air. Instead it is all sucked into the vacuum where the triple filtration means that I'm not risking exposure when I vacuum by aerosolizing the spores (which I know are there - they are everywhere). I even used it to lightly vacuum the bottom of my IQ Air prefilter to remove the dog hair and large debris, and I've had no reaction and seen no floating particles in the air during this process. I do also run my IQ Air at the highest setting while vacuuming, and that thing is a powerhouse. The attachments: I think they are great. The main floor attachment is obviously quality. I like the upholstery attachment - it works really well for pet hair and my couch has never been cleaner. It also did a great job on my curtains. The round soft bristled attachment is really great for strong suction on delicate scratch-able surfaces like wood furniture. It's gentle but will pick up all the dust. The narrow attachment for edges is great - fantastic size for getting into narrow spaces too. The various suction settings: I like that I can turn down the suction because as another reviewer noted, this thing is powerful, and on full suction it would be very difficult to maneuver over a small rug. I love this thing. A great investment.

No Wheels on Floor Head so it is extremely HARD to PUSH around even on the lowest power setting!!!
I just received my Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction Bagged...from Amazon. Used it for the first time today. It sucks up dirt very well……in fact, perhaps too well…..I found it extremely difficult to MOVE across the carpet, without wrenching my back! I stopped and checked the part that meets the floor (the floor head?), because I thought perhaps the wheels were stuck. When I examined it, there were NO wheels at all! No wonder it is so hard to move across the floor! I had to move the suction power down to the lowest possible setting in order to move it across the carpet….at all! When I moved the suction to the highest power, it lifted my carpet up off the floor!....and it was IMPOSSIBLE to move it AT ALL! What is going on??? 20 years ago I had a canister Miele, and I loved it. There were NO issues like I am having today. What is going on??? I was fully prepared to LOVE my new Miele vacuum cleaner, but if no one responds to this email with practical solutions……I will be returning it, PRONTO! UPDATE a day later, I searched for Miele Floor Heads, and found that there is a floor head that has wheels, but it costs and additional $130!!! The vacuum itself costs about $300. But the TURBO floor head costs an additional $130??? So in reality this vacuum costs $420. Plus I read the reviews of the Miele Turbo Floor Head, and apparently it is extremely difficult to CLEAN to get the hair off the rollers.....things like hidden screws underneath the wheels, stuff like that. Really bad reviews. On the "plus" side: it has Excellent suction power.....but I can't use the storngest or even the medium setting, I can only use the lowest setting or the floor head gets stuck to the floor and I can't move it all until I turn the power off. Another "plus" it is very, very quiet when it is running, which is nice. Some of these cheap vacuums sound like an outdoor lawn mower! That was the cheapest Bissell that I tried, and took back because it stopped working after 1 use. I'm really having trouble finding a solution here, without costing an arm and a leg.
